  • Move down (page down or whatever) and move to the end line; y'k will yank/copy all the lines from start to end; d'k will cut/delete all the lines from start to end; I have some annoying long functions at the top of my file and I don’t want to waste my time scrolling or jumping to lines.
  • I found that using multiple ahk mappings, like the script I used to use along with vimahk was tricky. OneNote Shortcuts. From Microsoft OneNote keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl Page Down - next page Ctrl Page Up - previous page. Ctrl Alt n - create new page below current in tab bar Ctrl M - open new OneNote window. Ctrl Alt 1 - make Heading 1,2 etc.
  • Many Vim windows for the same file. Let’s say we’re editing a Python script, and there are two different functions in it: f1 and f2 we’d like to edit at the same time. Vim makes this easy: Press Ctrl + w (cmd + w in a Mac).Press v (for vertical) or h (for horizontal). This will create a vertical splice, or a horizontal one.
  • As an emacs user majority of the time, I got used to pressing C-x C-s for saving files, and frequently makes this mistake in vim, and turns on the ^X mode. However, unlike in linux, where I can quit the ^X mode by pressing esc (or in fact any key), the vim on my mac hangs when I am working in X11. Vim behaves correctly in terminal.app though.

Hi all,
As an emacs user majority of the time, I got used to pressing C-x C-s for saving files, and frequently makes this mistake in vim, and turns on the ^X mode. However, unlike in linux, where I can quit the ^X mode by pressing esc (or in fact any key), the vim on my mac hangs when I am working in X11. Vim behaves correctly in terminal.app though. Does anyone have an idea on what is causing this? And any solutions?
Cheers!
